Privacy Policy

DailyFi, Inc. (“DailyFi,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the DailyFi mobile application and related services (the “Service”), a personal budgeting app that helps you understand and manage your money through a short daily check-in.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

The Service is provided by DailyFi, Inc., a Delaware corporation. We are the controller of the personal information processed through the Service.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide directly

• Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. We may also collect a name or display name if you provide one.
• Content you enter. We collect the information you add in the app, such as budgets, savings goals, fund allocations, and any notes or journal reflections you choose to write.

Financial account information (through Plaid)

To power the Service, you can securely connect your bank and credit card accounts using Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”). When you connect an account, we receive financial information from Plaid, including:

• Account information, such as account names, types, and current balances.
• Transaction history, such as transaction amounts, dates, descriptions, merchant names, and categories.

We use Plaid’s Transactions and Balance products. We do not receive or store your online banking username or password. Those credentials are entered directly into Plaid and are never shared with us. See Section 5 for details on Plaid.

Information collected automatically

• Device information. We collect a device identifier used to secure your account and, if you enable notifications, a push notification token.
• Usage information. We may collect limited information about how you interact with the app to operate, maintain, and improve the Service.

We do not knowingly collect more information than we need to provide the Service.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide the Service, including displaying your transactions and balances, keeping your balances current, and powering budgeting and daily-review features.
• Create and secure your account and authenticate you.
• Send you notifications you have enabled, such as daily reminders.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
• Detect, prevent, and address security issues, fraud, or technical problems.
• Comply with our legal obligations.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers (subprocessors). We share information with vendors who process data on our behalf to operate the Service, under contracts that require them to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us. These include:
  • Plaid — to connect your financial accounts (see Section 5).
  • Cloud infrastructure and database hosting — to store and process your data securely.
  • Authentication and email delivery — to manage sign-in and send account-related messages.
  • Apple Push Notification service — to deliver notifications you enable.
• Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of DailyFi, our users, or others.
• Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.

5. How we use Plaid

We use Plaid to connect your financial accounts to the Service. By using the Service to link an account, you grant DailyFi and Plaid the right to access and use your financial account information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and Plaid’s privacy practices.

Plaid collects and processes your information in accordance with the Plaid End User Privacy Policy, available at: https://plaid.com/legal/#end-user-privacy-policy. We encourage you to review Plaid’s policy to understand how Plaid handles your information.

6. Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

You can disconnect a linked financial account at any time, which stops further data collection from that account through Plaid.

7. How we protect your information

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit using TLS, and encryption of stored data at rest.
• Access controls that limit who can access production systems and data.
• Authentication safeguards for your account.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@dailyfi.app.

You can also:

• Disconnect accounts. Remove any linked financial account in the app at any time.
• Manage notifications. Turn notifications on or off in your device settings.
• Delete your account. Request deletion of your account and associated data.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.

California residents: You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

9. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

10. International users

We operate the Service from the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service or by other appropriate means and update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
